Email notifications
Which billing emails reach you, and which ones cannot be switched off.
Notifications, in the sidebar of your account, is one switch per billing email. Each decides the narrow thing its name suggests: whether that email is sent. Nothing else changes - the invoice is still paid, the plan still ends, the credit still lands.
Email notifications
Sign-in and security emails always reach you — those are not optional and are not listed here.
When an invoice is paid, with the transaction on it
When a payment arrives under the invoice total
Five days before your plan runs out
When it runs out and the account drops to Free
The credit note for a refunded invoice
When a gift card is added to your credit
When someone you invited earns you credit
Where to find it

Tapping is the whole edit
A switch saves the moment it moves. There is no Save button and no confirmation - the seven are independent, so there is no moment at which they are collectively finished.
If a save fails, the switch goes back to where it was and a message says so. A switch sitting in the position you left it in is a switch that was recorded.
The seven
| Switch | Sent when |
|---|---|
| Receipts | An invoice is paid. Carries the transaction it was paid with, and the invoice PDF. |
| Payment short | A payment arrives under the invoice total, with the shortfall and where to send it. |
| Plan ending soon | Five days before a paid plan runs out. |
| Plan has ended | A plan has run out and the account has dropped to Free. |
| Refund sent | The credit note for a refunded invoice. |
| Gift card redeemed | A gift card has been added to your credit. |
| Referral credit | Somebody you invited has earned you credit. |
All seven start on. Nothing is written when you register - an account that has never opened this screen is sent everything, and a switch turned off is the only thing recorded.
What cannot be switched off
Sign-in and security email has no switch here and is not listed: confirming your address, resetting your password, and the notices sent when your password changes or when two-factor authentication is turned on or off. They are how you get back into the account and how you find out somebody else got into it, and both of those matter most on the day you were not expecting them.
Telegram is a separate set of switches
Four of these seven also arrive in Telegram - Receipts, Plan ending soon, Plan has ended and Referral credit - and this screen does not govern those. Switching Receipts off here stops the email and leaves the Telegram message arriving.
That is deliberate, and it works both ways: the copy you want filed in your inbox and the copy you want in a chat are rarely the same choice. The Telegram half is switched in the bot, under Settings → Notification Settings, which also carries two switches for trade warnings that have no email at all.
The other three - Payment short, Refund sent and Gift card redeemed - are email only. Nothing sends them to Telegram whatever either screen says.
Switching one off does not stop the thing happening
A muted receipt does not stop the payment being taken or the plan starting, and a muted Plan has ended does not keep the plan alive. Everything still appears under Billing, which is the record - these switches only decide what arrives unprompted.
