Your First Trade
Building one trade by hand, checking what it will cost, and sending it.
The first trade worth placing is one you build by hand, because every number the bot works out is on the screen before anything is sent. ๐ Manual Entry is that screen: you give it a symbol, a direction and three prices, and it does exactly one thing for you - it decides how large the position should be.
You never choose a position size
This is the part that catches people who have traded by hand before. There is no size field on the panel. The size comes out of the distance between your entry and your stop:
position size โ risk amount รท (distance to stop + fees per unit)A tight stop buys a large position, a wide stop a small one, and the dollar loss if the stop fills stays about the same either way. That dollar figure is Initial Risk % of your total balance - which makes the stop loss, not the size, the number that decides everything.
Before you start
- The exchange is connected. The panel itself opens either way - the draft is yours, not
the exchange's, so you can build a whole trade while disconnected. What needs the
connection is ๐ Preview and ๐ Send, which answer
Connect an exchange key on the website first - see your account page.without it. See Connecting Your Exchange. - Your Telegram account is linked. Preview and Send both also need this, separately from
the exchange connection - an unlinked account gets
This bot is not linked to a Risbot account. Register on the website and link this Telegram account, and trading is enabled. Your settings are unaffected.instead of a result. See Linking Telegram and Plans for what linking then makes you subject to. - The symbol is on your list. Symbols are picked, never typed, so a typo cannot reach the
exchange. A new account starts with
BTCUSDT.PandETHUSDT.P; add more from The Symbol List. - You know your ceiling. Initial Risk % cannot exceed
Max Risk Per Trade, which is
1%on a new account.

๐ How this panel works9:35 PMA dash is an unset field. Every button rewrites the draft in place, and nothing at all is sent until you tap ๐ Send.
Fill it in in any order:
| Field | What to give it |
|---|---|
| ๐ค Symbol | Picked from your saved list. |
| ๐ข Buy / ๐ด Sell | The direction. |
| ๐ Limit / โก Market | Limit waits at your entry price; Market fills now and re-prices the whole trade at send time. |
| ๐ฏ Entry Price | Where you want in. |
| โ Take Profit | Your target. |
| ๐ Stop Loss | Where the trade is wrong. This is what the position is sized against. |
| โ ๏ธ Initial Risk % | What this trade may lose, as a percentage of your total balance. Starts at 0.5, then remembers the last value you sent. |
Tapping a price field asks you to reply with a number; the prompt and your reply are both
deleted as soon as they are read. Pasted prices survive - $64,231.90 and 64231.90 are
both accepted.
The entry, target and stop start empty and are required, and Preview and Send both refuse until they are there, naming what is missing:
Fill in Entry Price, Take Profit, Stop Loss firstWhat the buttons do on this page
This copy of the panel is a preview with no exchange behind it. Once the draft is complete,
Preview and Send answer This preview is not connected to an exchange, so nothing is sent.
and the buttons that lead off the panel - Symbol, Back, Close - answer
This preview only covers this panel. In the bot, all of them work normally.
Preview, then send
๐ Preview runs the entire pipeline - balances, fees, sizing, leverage and every rejection check - and shows you the result without placing anything. It is the same code as Send, so what it shows is what you would get.
๐ Send submits immediately, with no second confirmation. Preview is the confirmation step, and it is worth using on the first trade even when you are sure.
Read two lines on the preview before you send: the position size, which will be smaller than you expect if your stop is wide, and Net Loss (after fees) - the amount this trade costs you if the stop fills.

Total Risk: $0.46 (0.45% of balance)9:35 PMThat message means a position now exists where there was none. The body is built by the same
code as Preview, so it reads identically to the screen you just approved - only the heading
differs, Current Position here against Projected Position there.
The figure to check against your intention is again Net Loss (after fees). Everything else
follows from it: the leg the bot opened, its stop, the margin it used and the leverage it
needed to get there.
Notifications is the reference for this message and every other one the bot sends unprompted - including โ Trade Rejected, which is your own rules turning a trade away before it reached Bybit, and ๐จ Order Failed, which is Bybit refusing it. The difference matters: a rejection changed nothing, while a failure means going to look at Bybit.
A trade that does not go through is never silent. Why a trade gets
rejected lists the checks it can fall
at - a net risk-reward below 1.0 after fees, a position already open on that symbol, a size
under the exchange's minimum, or the
daily loss limit having stopped trading for the day.
After the fill
The trade is now on Positions, where you can add to it, move the target, mark a leg breakeven or close it. Closed trades feed Performance.
Then stop typing prices
Manual Entry is the honest place to start because nothing is hidden. Once the mechanics are familiar, Sniper is the faster path to the same trade: you pick a symbol and a side, and it reads the stop loss off recent candle wicks at the moment you tap Send, then derives the target from a risk-reward ratio you set once. Same sizing, same checks, same notifications - and no prices to type.
