Sniper
Builds a market order from recent candle wicks, so you only choose a symbol and a side.
Sniper is the fast way to place a trade. You do not type prices β you pick a symbol, a side, and how far back to look, and the bot reads the stop loss off recent candle wicks at the moment you tap Send.
Where to find it
Main menu β π― Sniper, or send /sniper.

Symbol: BTCUSDT.P
Side: Buy
Timeframe: 5m
Candle Lookback: 5
SL Buffer: $5
Take Profit: β
Initial Risk %: 0.5
Market order - SL is auto-calculated from the last 5 closed 5m candle
wick(s), regardless of what timeframe your chart is on; TP is the price
you set above. The panel is a draft. Nothing is sent until you tap π Send, and every button rewrites the draft in place.
How the stop loss is calculated
At the moment you tap Preview or Send, the bot fetches the last few closed candles on the timeframe you chose and puts the stop just beyond their extreme:
Buy: stop = lowest low of the lookback β SL Buffer
Sell: stop = highest high of the lookback + SL BufferEntry is the current market price, because Sniper always sends a market order.
Only closed candles count
The candle currently forming is excluded. A 5-candle lookback on 5m uses the last five finished 5m candles, so the stop does not move around underneath you while the current candle is still printing.
The chosen timeframe is used for that lookback only. It is independent of whatever chart you happen to be looking at in TradingView.
Setting the target
Sniper has two target modes, and the π Switch toβ¦ button moves between them. The panel always shows which one is active.
Fixed Risk:Reward mode
You give a ratio, and the take profit is derived from the stop distance:
risk = |entry β stop|
Buy: take profit = entry + risk Γ ratio
Sell: take profit = entry β risk Γ ratioA ratio of 2 targets twice what the trade risks. Because the stop is measured
fresh at send time, so is the target β you never have to update it as price
moves.
Take Profit mode
You type an absolute price instead, and the bot uses it as-is. It still calculates the stop from the wicks; only the target is yours.
A take profit on the wrong side of the market is rejected before anything is placed:
Take Profit must be above the current entry price for a BuyThe fields
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| π€ Symbol | Opens your saved symbol list. Symbols are picked, never typed, so a typo cannot reach the exchange. |
| π’ Buy / π΄ Sell | Direction. This also decides which side of the wicks the stop goes on. |
| β±οΈ Timeframe | Candle size for the lookback: 1m, 5m, 15m, 1h, 4h. |
| π―οΈ Lookback | How many closed candles to scan. Any whole number from 1 up. More candles means a wider, safer stop and a smaller position. |
| π‘οΈ SL Buffer | Dollars of room beyond the wick, so a stop is not sitting exactly on the extreme. $5, $10, $20, or Custom for any positive number. |
| π Fixed Risk:Reward or π― Take Profit | The target, per the mode above. |
| β οΈ Initial Risk % | How much of your balance this trade may lose. Required β Preview and Send both refuse without it. |
Tapping a field that needs a number opens a reply prompt. Send the bare value
(5, not $5), and both your reply and the prompt are deleted once read.
Initial Risk % is capped
Anything above your Max Risk Per Trade is rejected:
5% exceeds the max risk ceiling of 2.5%.The panel keeps its previous value, so a rejected entry never leaves the draft in a state you did not choose.
Preview before Send
π Preview runs the whole calculation β fetches the price, reads the wicks, derives the stop and target, sizes the position β and shows you the result without placing anything. It is the same code path Send uses, so what you see is what you would get.
π Send places a market order immediately. There is no confirmation step after it, so Preview is the confirmation step.
Errors you may see
| Message | What happened |
|---|---|
Fill in Initial Risk % first | The risk field is empty. |
Set a Take Profit value first. | You are in TP mode with no price set. |
No closed 5m candle data available for BTCUSDT | The exchange returned no finished candles β usually a symbol that has just listed. |
Computed stop loss ended up on the wrong side of the current price | Price moved through the wick extreme between the lookback and the send. Re-open and try again. |
The symbol list
π€ Symbol opens a list shared with Manual Entry β one list, not one per panel. Tap a symbol to select it and return with the rest of your draft intact. See The Symbol List for adding, renaming, reordering, and why a symbol a preset uses cannot be deleted.
What the panel remembers
- Initial Risk % β the last value you typed, carried across every preset. It belongs to your risk management, not to any one setup.
- Symbol β the last one you picked, but only when no preset is active. A preset names its own symbol, and that always wins.
Everything else comes from the active preset, or from the defaults below.
Defaults
| Field | Default |
|---|---|
| Side | Buy |
| Timeframe | 5m |
| Candle Lookback | 2 |
| SL Buffer | $10 |
| Mode | Fixed Risk:Reward |
| Fixed Risk:Reward | 2 |
| Initial Risk % | Empty β you must set it |
Saving a setup
The row above the symbol holds up to two saved setups for one-tap loading, plus π― Presets to manage them. See Sniper Presets.
