Add To Position
Scaling into a position you already hold, within the risk it was allowed.
Add To Position puts more size into a trade that is already open. It is not a second trade — it is another leg of the same one, and it is held to the risk budget the original entry was sized against.
Where to find it

When the bot opens a trade it records the ceiling that trade may ever reach — derived from your Max Risk Per Trade at the moment of entry. Every fill against that trade is a leg, and each leg consumes part of the ceiling.
That is what keeps scaling honest. Without it, three adds to a 2% trade would be a 6% trade wearing the original's name.
| Line | What it is |
|---|---|
| Remaining Budget Available | Dollars of risk left, against the trade's total dollar budget. $1.65 / $2.14 means $1.65 of the $2.14 the trade was allowed remains. |
| Remaining Qty Available | How much size you can actually add right now. |
| Used: 0.002 / 0.009 ceiling | Quantity consumed so far against the trade's quantity ceiling. |
The budget line is not always there
It only appears when Dollar Risk Cap was enabled for that trade. Without it there is no dollar budget to report and the quantity ceiling is the only limit.
Remaining Qty depends on the stop loss
Until you set a Stop Loss, Remaining Qty Available shows ceiling room only — the bot cannot price the dollar budget in quantity terms without knowing what a unit of this add would cost you if it went wrong.
Once a stop is set, the figure becomes the smaller of the two limits, rounded down to the symbol's lot step. That is exactly what Send would place, so the number is not an estimate.
A closed leg does not give its size back
Quantity used is the sum of every leg ever opened, including ones whose stop already fired. A leg that lost real money must not free its allowance for another add — that would let the trade's total risk exceed the ceiling it was given.
The one thing that does free room is a breakeven mark: a leg that can no longer lose is no longer spending risk.
The fields
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| 🛑 Stop Loss | The stop for this new leg. Setting it is what makes Remaining Qty exact. |
| 🔢 Quantity | How much to add. Leave it as Max available to take everything the ceiling and budget allow. |
The buttons
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| 🔓 Mark Legs Breakeven | Move a leg's stop to its own entry. See Mark Legs Breakeven. |
| 🔄 Send Position Update | Posts a fresh summary of the whole trade as its own message — every leg's stop, leverage and risk, plus the blended average entry and the net profit and loss at the current targets. Only offered once the trade actually has legs to report on. |
| 🔍 Preview | Runs the full calculation without placing anything. |
| 🚀 Send | Places the add. |
Adds are always market orders
There is no order type to choose. An add fills at the current price, because the point of scaling in is to act on where price is now — a resting limit add would sit unfilled while the position it was meant to reinforce moves away.
Why an add can be rejected
Send re-checks both caps against live prices before placing anything, so an add can be refused even when the panel showed room a moment earlier — the figures are computed from the price at the time the panel was drawn.
| Rejection | What it means |
|---|---|
| Add risk budget exceeded | The requested size costs more risk than the trade has left. |
| No open position to add to | The position closed between opening this panel and sending. |
| Liquidation too close | The added size would put liquidation uncomfortably near the current price. |
