Balance Range
The share of your total balance that should be sitting on the exchange.
Balance Range watches one ratio: how much of your total balance is actually on the exchange. Drift outside the band you set and the bot tells you, and tells you how much to move to fix it.
It is the only setting on the Risk Management panel that cannot stop a trade. It has no opinion about size, risk or margin - it is a warning, and nothing else.

๐ How this panel works9:35 PMReply with two numbers and a hyphen - 15-25, minimum on the left. Spaces around the hyphen
are fine (15 - 25); a comma is not. Anything the bot cannot read as a range comes back
naming the format:
'15,25' isn't in min-max format, e.g. 15-25.What the range is a range of
share on exchange = exchange wallet balance รท total balance ร 100and total balance is your exchange balance plus your
Collateral Balance.
So the percentage is not about a position, or about margin, or about how much you are risking. It answers one question: of everything the bot sizes trades against, how much of it is where trades can actually be paid for?
Why it exists
Every percentage the bot works in is a percentage of total balance, and collateral counts toward that total. But only the exchange balance can be posted as margin. Those two facts together make a specific failure possible: an account that looks healthy - a large total balance, trades sized generously against it - while almost nothing is on the exchange to back them. The trades are then refused for leverage or margin, one after another, and nothing about the risk settings explains why.
Balance Range is the check for that gap. It compares the two balances on every fetch and speaks up before the rejections start.
The other direction matters too, and is the reason the band has an upper bound as well as a lower one. Holding everything on the exchange means holding everything somewhere it can be lost to the exchange rather than to your trading.
The warning
The warning fires whenever the share falls outside your band, and names an amount to move.
This account holds $2145.30 on the exchange against a $2645.30 total - 81.1% on the
exchange, far above its own 15-25 band:
$1616.24 to hot wallet
This will bring Bybit balance to $529.06 (20% of total)

๐ How this panel works9:35 PMThe suggested amount always aims for the midpoint of your own band, not its nearest
edge - landing on the edge would put you one small move away from the warning returning.
Here the midpoint of 15-25 is 20%, which is $529.06 of a $2645.30 total, so it asks
for $1616.24 to be moved off the exchange. Below the band the message inverts, asking you
to add to the exchange instead.
You see it in two places:
- at the top of the ๐ Risk Management panel, whenever you open it while out of range, exactly as above;
- as a โ ๏ธ Balance Warning notification while a trade is being processed, since the bot fetches your live balance there anyway.
This warning never rejects anything
A trade fired while out of range is placed exactly as it would have been in range. If you do not want the notification, it has its own switch under Notification Settings - the panel warning stays either way. The rejection you are being warned about, when it eventually comes, is an leverage or margin one and belongs to Buffer Percent.
Accepted values
| Format | min-max, e.g. 15-25 |
| Range | 0 < min < max โค 100 |
| Unit | Percent of total balance |
| Scope | Per account - every account has its own value |
| Default | 15-25% |
The prompt states the rule itself:
Reply with min-max, e.g. 15-25. Must be 0 < min < max โค 100.A minimum equal to or above the maximum is refused, and so is 0 on either side.
With no collateral, the band effectively switches itself off
If your Collateral Balance is $0.00, your exchange balance is your total balance, the
share is always 100%, and a 15-25 band would warn constantly. The default band is
written for someone holding most of their capital off the exchange. If you hold everything
on it, widen the maximum to 100 - or read every warning as the reminder it is.
