Risk Management

The panel that decides how much of your account each trade can risk.

Risk Management is where you set the rules every trade is measured against. Nothing on this panel places, changes or closes anything - it decides what the next trade is allowed to be, and what the day as a whole is allowed to cost you.

Every value here belongs to your account alone. Two people on the same bot never share a single one of them.

Max Risk Per Trade, Collateral Balance and Buffer Percent are shown with what they are worth in dollars right now. That figure is not stored anywhere - the panel fetches your exchange balance every time it opens and works it out fresh, so it moves as your balance moves.

The panel opens even when the exchange does not answer

If your balance cannot be fetched, the dollar figures are dropped, a warning takes their place at the top of the panel, and every setting stays editable. The values here are yours, not the exchange's; only the translation into dollars needs it.

A warning also sits at the top when your exchange balance has drifted outside your Balance Range - as it does on the panel above, which is an account holding far more on the exchange than its own band allows. That one is informational and changes nothing about the settings below it.

The seven settings

๐Ÿ“Š Max Risk Per Trade - the largest share of your balance a single trade may lose if its stop is hit. It is a ceiling, not a fixed size: Sniper and Manual Entry each let you risk less on an individual trade, and anything above this is refused.

๐Ÿ’ต Dollar Risk Cap - a toggle rather than a value. With it on, the dollar figure beside Max Risk Per Trade is frozen onto each new trade as a hard budget, which every later add spends from. With it off, a scaled-in trade is bounded by quantity alone.

๐Ÿฆ Collateral Balance - money you hold away from the exchange but still want counted when sizing. It is added to your exchange wallet balance to make the total balance that every percentage on this panel is a percentage of.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Buffer Percent - a slice of your exchange balance held back from margin, so the bot can never commit the last dollar on the account.

โš–๏ธ Balance Range - the share of your total balance that should actually be sitting on the exchange. Outside that band you get a warning telling you how much to move. It never stops a trade.

๐Ÿ›‘ Daily Loss Limit - a circuit breaker for the day: stop after so many losing trades, or after so much of the balance is lost or at risk. On from the start, at 2 losing trades or 2% a day.

๐Ÿ“… Trading Days - which weekdays new trades are accepted on. On from the start, with Saturday and Sunday off.

Editing them

Every one of the seven is changed from the panel itself. Four of them - Max Risk Per Trade, Collateral Balance, Buffer Percent and Balance Range - reply with a prompt to answer; ๐Ÿ’ต Dollar Risk Cap is a switch that flips on the tap, with nothing to confirm. ๐Ÿ›‘ Daily Loss Limit and ๐Ÿ“… Trading Days open panels of their own.

The panel below is the real one. The four fields that take a value are live: tap one, answer its prompt, and the panel redraws exactly as the bot would redraw it.

The other three stop at a notice instead of acting. ๐Ÿ’ต Dollar Risk Cap flips a real account's setting the moment it is tapped, with nothing to confirm, so the preview will not pretend to. ๐Ÿ›‘ Daily Loss Limit and ๐Ÿ“… Trading Days open panels of their own, which this preview does not follow - each has its own page, linked above.

That is a brand-new account: every value at its default, and no exchange connected yet - which is why the warning stands where the dollar figures were on the panel at the top of this page.

How they fit together

The seven settings are not seven versions of the same rule. They act at three different levels, and knowing which is which is most of what makes the panel readable.

What bounds a single trade

Max Risk Per Trade is the ceiling on what one trade may lose. Dollar Risk Cap decides whether that ceiling is also enforced as a fixed dollar budget across every add to that trade, or only as the quantity ceiling the trade was opened with.

Buffer Percent bounds a trade from the other end. It has nothing to do with how much you may lose and everything to do with how much margin the trade may use - a trade whose margin does not fit the balance left after the buffer is rejected, whatever its risk says.

What bounds a day

Daily Loss Limit and Trading Days are the two settings that can turn a trade away for reasons that have nothing to do with that trade. One counts what the day has already cost you; the other looks at what day it is. Both work on your local day, both apply only to opening a new position, and both offer a mode that warns instead of refusing.

They share one clock. The UTC offset is a single value reachable from either screen - change it in one and the other moves with it.

What changes the balance the rest are computed against

Every percentage on this panel is a percentage of a balance, and two settings change which balance that is.

Collateral Balance raises the total balance, which is what Max Risk Per Trade and the Daily Loss Limit's percent cap are measured against. Adding collateral makes every trade bigger in dollars without a cent arriving at the exchange.

Buffer Percent lowers the usable exchange balance, which is what margin is checked against. It never changes how much a trade risks - only whether there is room to place it.

That split is exactly the gap Balance Range exists to watch: it compares the two balances and tells you when too little of your capital is where trades actually need it to be.

The size of an individual trade is not set here

How much a particular trade risks comes from the trade itself - the Initial Risk % field on Sniper and Manual Entry. This panel sets the ceiling that figure is checked against, and never a fixed size of its own.
